I'm doing a get to know your current Work in Progress. Let me know what you think.
What is the working title of your book? Breaking Destruction
Where did the idea come from for the book? My husband is from El Paso Texas. When we first started dating and I took my first trip there. My husband took me across the border into Cuidad Juarez, Mexico. We had a blast. Now it's not safe to even walk along the border in Texas let alone go over into Juarez. I decided I wanted to write about what was going on over there but put an Urban Fantasy twist to it.
What genre does your book fall under?
Contemparary with an Urban Fantasy twist.
Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition? I have no idea. I think I would like to have unknowns be actors in the movie.
What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book? Azure, who is Destruction, must find a way to destroy Juarez, Mexico in order to save it.
Will your book be self-published or represented by an agency? I'm not sure. I'm going to try and get an agent but I'm still trying to decide if that is the right direction for me to go. The business is changing and I think some publishers will be left behind if they don't start thinking outside the box.
How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript? Three years
What other books would you compare this story to within your genre?
I really don't think there are any books out there that come even close to mine and I've been paying attention. I have certain aspects that could be compared to Simone Elkeles and on the Urban Fantasy side I would say it's something kinda like Neil Gaiman.
Who or What inspired you to write this book? My father-in-law. He is an incredible man who braves a really scary city three times a week.
What else about your book might pique the reader’s interest?
Um . . . witty dialogue and a whole lot of action.
I will be tagging other blogs soon. Just waiting to hear back from the people I've tagged.

Ghost of a Second Chance Book Review
I bet you all have been wondering where I've been for the past seven months. Well first I had a baby who decided that a stay in the NICU was a good idea. Then we came home and it has taken me this long to get use to not having any sleep and to still be able to function like a semi normal human being. But now I'm back, sleep deprived and all.
While I was on my self imposed hyatus. I got to read some amazing books and some not so amazing. I'm only going to tell you about the amazing ones. So starting now until I run out of books I've read I'm going to give you some reviews. Actually their just my musings as I was reading these books. So with out further ado the first book I read was A Ghost of a Second Chance by Kristy Tate.
First I just have to say that I love this cover. And I wish I could find a clearer picture of it because it truely is gorgeous. Kristy has written a book where I was able to immediately connect to the main character Laine. She's struggling with her grandfathers death and the possibility of a failed marriage. I really felt her pain. Throw in a lovable but annoying ghost and you have the makings of a great story. I love the growth Laine was able to do. It was very easy to cheer for her and hope that her marriage wouldn't fall apart.
My only complaint was the typos and missing words. But I'm finding that even authors published by major publishers have words missing and typos in the kindle versions of their books. I'm wondering if this is a software glitch.
If you're in need of a feel good book I highly recommend this one. It had me smiling through the whole book. Go here to purchase Kristy's book
